It all began in the 1970's

D.G. Coleman, Inc. was originally founded as "Coleman Trucking" by Dan and Kathy Coleman in January 1972.

Dan purchased his first truck, it was a 1968 Mack cab over. At that time, the trucking industry was heavily regulated and his truck was leased by Ruan Transport Corporation.

Coleman Trucking, through Ruan Transport, hauled a wide variety of products including Liquid Petroleum Products, Chemicals, and various Hazardous materials.

THen In 1978, Ruan Transport ceased operations in Colorado; forcing Coleman Trucking to venture a new industry. Shortly after departing Ruan, Coleman Trucking began hauling construction materials such as sand and gravel.

The separation from Ruan Transport did not last for long; the customer's of Ruan demanded to have the service of Coleman Trucking back and yet again Coleman Trucking partnered with Ruan Transport.

While Dan was managing the Colorado business for Ruan; he was also expanding his own trucking company.

On January 26, 1981, Coleman Trucking became D.G. Coleman, Inc.

Throughout the decade, D.G COleman, INC. sustained rapid growth and quickly outgrew the rented space of Ruan Transport's Commerce City terminal. That lead Dan to purchase his own facility in Denver, CO.
